Bergen News Anchor Denies Talking To White House About Job

Eric Bolling denied he spoke with officials about becoming the White House's next communications director.

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — Former Fox News host and local resident Eric Bolling denied Sunday he has spoken with the White House about becoming President Trump's communications director.

Bolling told CNN's "Reliable Sources" Sunday that he had "no conversations with the White House regarding jobs."

Bolling posted on Twitter Thursday that he would work for $1 to "help drain the swamp, plug the leaks, build the wall with Pesos, lower taxes, build infrastructure, protect #2A and save some parents from the scourge of opioids. But that would mean working directly with POTUS, not near him."

Bolling's son, Eric Bolling Jr., died of an opioid overdose Sept. 8. The family is from Demarest and his son was a student in Colorado when his body was found. Bolling announced his son's death on Twitter.

Bolling has spoken out about the dangers of opioids since his son died.

"Not-my-kid syndrome is terrible. Not-my-kid syndrome is a killer because you just don't know. It could very well be your kid," Bolling previously said "So us all a favor. Do yourselves a favor. Do your family a favor, do your children a favor. Have the discussion with them. Do it again and again. Get involved in their lives."

Bolling told CNN that he has had "four or four one-on-one conversations" with President Trump" regarding the nation's opioid crisis.

Bolling left Fox News in September, right before his son died, amid accusations that he sent female colleagues lewd pictures. He has denied such claims.
