Empowering Women Through Motion Hosts The Empowerment Project Screening

The inspirational documentary The Empowerment Project will be screened on 2/8/2017 at the Lafayette Theater in Suffern NY.

Empowering Women Thru Motion will screen the acclaimed documentary The Empowerment Project: Ordinary Women Doing Extraordinary Things on Wednesday February 8, 2017.

“We give our full support in screening The Empowerment Project for those who need inspiration our community,” says Carolyn Blake, MMA executive committee member. “We applaud the women in this film who achieved their dreams and look forward to hearing from the filmmakers to get their perspective on how to become a stronger, more successful person.”

Supported by the Mahwah Municipal Alliance (MMA), this screening will take place at Lafayette Theater, located at 97 Lafayette Avenue in Suffern NY, from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Doors will open at 6:30 pm and tickets can be purchased for $5 on the MMA website.

The Empowerment Project is 54 minutes long and will be immediately followed by a Q&A session with director Sarah Moshman and producer Dana Michelle Cook. The Empowerment Project was made by an all-female crew and follows their 7,000-mile road trip across the U.S. interviewing 17 positive women leaders over 30 days across a variety of lifestyles and industries.

Moshman and Cook, who are Emmy® Award Winning filmmakers, screen the film for intimate and larger audiences at schools, universities, corporations and other venues around the U.S. Their focus is using community screenings to bring people together and spark an important conversation around empowerment in our world today.

The Empowerment Project challenges audiences ages 9 and up to answer what they would do if they weren’t afraid to fail and they knew they would succeed. The screening is funded in part by the MMA, a 501(c) 3 organization, and SUCASA.
