Bergen County Teen Who Was Caught With 198 Stolen Checks Is Arrested Again

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — A Teaneck teen who was caught with 198 stolen checks during a traffic stop in spring has been arrested again, Teaneck police said Monday.

Moses Lemite, 19, was recently charged with credit card theft, fraudulent use of a credit card, and theft by unlawful taking, the Teaneck police said.

Deputy Chief Seth said that on June 9, a Teaneck resident came to police headquarters to report unauthorized transactions made with their debit card at local businesses, and an ATM withdrawal of $3,000.

Detectives looked at surveillance video and identified Lemite, Kriegel said.

Police couldn't find him right away, but last Monday, he was arrested when the Paramus police made a traffic stop and discovered his warrant.

He was taken to the Bergen County Corrections and Rehabilitation Center to await his first appearance in Bergen
County Superior Court, police said.

Back in April, Lemite was arrested after Teaneck police made a traffic stop and caught him with other people's prescription drugs, 198 checks worth $122,000, and a post office uniform, police said at the time. READ MORE: Teen Caught With Stolen Checks During Traffic Stop

When he was brought to the police station, he tried to clog a toilet with clothing, said police.

He was charged with receiving stolen property, criminal attempt/forgery, possession of prescription drugs not lawfully prescribed, and hindering apprehension, said Teaneck police.
