Les Paul To Be Commemorated In Mahwah

Museum looking for volunteers for September exhibit

The community is gearing up to remember the contributions of one of its sons, infamous guitarist and inventor Les Paul, in a exhibit this September. The Museum is looking for volunteers who will help put the exhibit together.

"The Museum is anticipating a multimedia exhibit, with a reproduction of Les Paul's studio in Mahwah and  hands-on displays celebrating his life and genius," said Tom Dunn, the Museum President.

Paul, who lived in Mahwah for over half his life, died in 2009. The museum will commemorate his life and musical contributions through reproductions and artifacts from his Mahwah home.

Introductory team meetings for those interested in volunteering will be held Monday, March 28 at 7:30 p.m. at the Museum and Saturday, April 2 at 9:30 a.m.

The job ahead - putting together a comprehensive exhibit complete with graphics, audio visuals, computer animations and more - is a great one. Dunn said anyone and everyone who can help will be appreciated.

"We need people with different skills - artsts and computer whizzes; social media gurus; teachers, researchers, editors and writers; carpenters and other skilled trades; strong backs and typists; envelope stuffers and refreshment makers."

Those who are interested in participating, but cannot attend either introductory meeting, can email director@mahwahmuseum.org for more information.
