Mahwah Officials Are Glad Jaguar Is Staying In The Township
The company may increase its workforce to 300 a result of moving to the current Sharp headquarters in 2018.

MAHWAH, N.J. — Local officials are glad Jaguar is keeping its United States headquarters in the township, but are sad to see Sharp Electronics leave the place it has called home for more than 30 years.
Sharp announced it was leaving Mahwah earlier this week. The company will relocate to Montvale by Jan. 10 of next year, said Susan Osgood, vice president of human resources for Sharp. All 350 employees will move to the Montvale office.
“They were a valued ratable and provided a lot of jobs for Mahwah,” said Council President John Roth. “We’re going to miss them.”

All of the 250 people who work at Jaguar’s MacArthur Boulevard headquarters are staying with the company when it moves to Sharp’s 140,000-square-foot space in Sharp Plaza, said Maria Rodriguez, product communications coordinator. In fact, Jaguar would like to have as much as 300 working at the new facility when it moves there in the first quarter of 2018, Rodriguez said. Jaguar has been at its current location since 1989. The company is trying to see the property.

The New Jersey Economic Development Authority in June awarded Jaguar-Land Rover North America a $27 million tax break to stay in New Jersey.
