Summer Concert Series Includes Journey, Van Halen Tributes

Series at Ramapo College will be back again this year

The best of rock and pop tribute bands will headline the 2012 TD Bank Summer Concert Series hosted by The Foundation on the College campus.  On four Thursday evenings beginning in July, families from across the region will listen to great music on the Bandshell lawn.

“We are proud to help bring the TD Bank Summer Concert Series to Ramapo College, and this year’s lineup promises to be as entertaining as ever,” said Joanne Westphal, retail marketing manager for TD Bank. “Sponsoring these events not only supports the community, but also lets families experience our brand.”

July 12: Separate Ways - The Ultimate Journey Show

Experience the subtle nuances, inflections, harmonies and visual gratifications of seeing an original Journey Show.  “Don’t Stop Believin’” will rock the house.  Lead singer Dino has garnered critical acclaim for taking audiences back to the 80s when the timeless music of Journey ruled the airwaves.

July 19: Jersey Four - Tribute to the Four Seasons

This ultimate tribute to Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons will bring back memories of the 60s with the songs of these Rock and Roll Hall of Fame legends.           

July 26: UNCHAINED - Van Halen Tribute 

Formed in 1998, UNCHAINED quickly became recognized as the premier Van Halen tribute band.  They have played top venues throughout the country and their music will rock the College’s Bandshell.    

August 2: The B Street Band - A Tribute to the Boss

The original Springsteen Tribute band, their authenticity has earned the respect and reputation of the music industry.  From the early days of “The Boss” to today, they encompass it all. 

Concert goers are encouraged to pack a picnic dinner, chairs and blankets and to bring their friends for a community night out.  There will also be vendors, including the Mason Jar, selling food.  The concerts, held at the Bandshell on the College campus, begin at 8 p.m.  Concerts are free; parking is $5 per vehicle.  Following the first concert on July 12, Ramapo College will host a fireworks display at 9:30 p.m.  Fireworks rain date is July 19.  In case of rain, concerts will be held in Bradley Center Arena.  For more information or to request disability-related accommodations, please call 201.684.7093.
