Top 10 Bergen Fugitive Davey Scott Caught In Jamaica: Prosecutor
Davey Scott, 48, skipped a court appearance in 2001 on charges he tried to sell more than 25 lbs. of marijuana to an undercover detective.

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — A top 10 fugitive wanted by the Bergen County Sheriff's Office was caught and arrested in Jamaica Tuesday, more than 17 years after he skipped out on a court appearance.
Davey Scott, 48, was located in Kingston, Jamaica where he was working as a disc jockey under the moniker "DJ Tallman," acting Bergen County Prosecutor Dennis Calo announced Wednesday.
Scott was arrested with help by the United States Marshals Service pending extradition to the United States, Calo said. He was charged with first-degree possession of a controlled dangerous substance, second-degree aggravated assault on a police officer and third-degree hindering apprehension.

The charges stem from a 2001 undercover narcotics investigation by the Franklin Lakes Police Department and the prosecutor's office. Scott tried to sell more than 25 pounds of marijuana to an undercover detective and he fled the scene in his vehicle, Calo said.
Scott struck a detective while driving and was arrested and indicted on the charges. He was freed on bond, but a bench warrant was issued for his arrest when he did not appear at his Jan. 9, 2004 court appearance.

Scott was added to the Bergen County Sheriff's Office Most Wanted List in 2007.
Detectives with the prosecutor's and sheriff's office and investigators with the Marshal's Service Regional Fugitive Task Force eventually found Scott in Jamaica, Calo said.
Authorities filed for Scott to be extradited to the United States because he is a Jamaican citizen. He is being held in Jamaica pending extradition to the United States.
