Fight At Marianne Manor Latest Incident At Manalapan Nursing Home

The nursing home made news last month for having a third resident in two years die crossing the road.

MANALAPAN, NJ— Police were called to a Manalapan nursing home after a fight broke out, Captain Thomas Barstow said in a blotter item.

According to the blotter, two residents physically fought on Wednesday, Nov. 23. The police responded to the fight, which ended before they got there.

A 59-year-old resident told police they had been punched in the face by a 64-year-old resident. The victim was told how to make a complaint through the courts, and no arrests were filed.

The names and genders of the two involved in the fight were not released.

Marianne Manor has a history of negative attention, most notably for a string of resident deaths at a nearby intersection.

Three residents in two years died crossing the intersection of Route 33 and Woodward Road: Marvin Hodgdon, 58, died in October, 60-year-old resident died last August, and a 67-year-old man was struck during a downpour in October of 2014.

Multiple calls to Marianne Manor went unanswered as of publication.
