Manalapan police said they are investigating the theft of a truck's tailgate, and the theft of irrigation system parts.

Manalapan police recently investigated cases of assault, theft and fraud.

At approximately 3:25p.m., Manalapan Township officers responded to the area of Justin Corporate Center off Taylors Mills Road for a fight in progress. A 42-year-old Freehold woman allegedly struck a 37-year-old Manalapan woman in the face. There were no injuries to either person. Victim was advised of the procedure to sign complaints. Officer Matt Porricelli handled the report.

At approximately 11:50 a.m., a 73-year-old Manalapan man and his 60-year-old wife responded to headquarters to report an identity theft. They stated that they had e­filed their tax return and were told that someone had used their social security numbers to file a return. The incident was reported to the Internal Revenue Service. Officer Kevin McIntosh took the report.

May 1

At 9:31p.m., a 21-year-old Freehold woman responded to Manalapan Police headquarters to file a fraud report. The victim related that on this date, she left her wallet in the Target parking lot and later found fraudulent purchases on her credit card. The victim also had $400 in the wallet. The victim was advised to notify her credit card companies and the credit bureau. Officer Jared Coupland handled the report.

At 11:06 a.m., Officer Kevin Ruditsky responded to the parking lot area of Cross Slope Court in the Covered Bridge Development where an unknown actor had removed both drivers’ side hubcaps off a parked vehicle. The hubcaps were valued at approximately $200. The case is pending investigation.

At approximately midnight, a young man and woman removed five electric razors valued at $648.95 from CVS on Woodward Road without paying for them. The two subjects were later observed in the WaWa parking lot across Route 33 attempting to sell the stolen items. A short time later they entered a tan Grand Marquis which is not believed to be associated with them, and left the area in an unknown direction. Officer Kyle Early took the report which remains under investigation. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call Officer Kyle Earley at 732­-446­-4300.

April 30

At approximately 5:15 p.m., a 38-year-old Manalapan man responded to headquarters to report he was the victim of identity theft. The victim related that on April 29, he was advised by his payroll company that money was requested from them via his e­mail account. The victim logged into his account to find multiple login locations into his account not authorized by him, but he was unable to obtain any further information. The report was handled by Officer Matthew Porricelli.

At approximately 1 a.m., Officer Kyle Earley conducted a motor vehicle stop after observing suspicious activity. Further investigation revealed the driver, Angela Vaughn, 20, of Freehold Township, and two passengers, Megan Purcell, 21, of Howell and Carolee Homann, 19, of Jackson, were in possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana and multiple pieces of paraphernalia used to smoke marijuana. All three were arrested, processed, then released on summonses, with a court date in Manalapan.

At approximately 7:10 p.m., a 50-year-old Manalapan man reported his black 1999 Chevy Suburban stolen. His vehicle was reported stolen after bad business transaction took place on April 11, 2014 between the victim and his mechanic. The mechanic took the vehicle into his possession in order to do restoration work on April 11, 2014, received payment in advance for the work to be done, and never returned the vehicle. The vehicle was entered into NCIC and reported stolen. Officer Matt Porricelli is handling the investigation.

At 2:25 p.m. a 27-year-old Manalapan man reported that his credit card was used fraudulently. He reported that his credit card number was obtained at a Manalapan gas station and was then used at a gas station in Georgia. The amount charged on his card was $38.78. Officer Ross Dessel is handling the investigation.

April 29

At approximately 4:35p.m., Officer Matthew Meyler responded to CVS on Gordon’s Corner Road in reference to a theft and fraudulent use of a debit card. The victim, a 21-year-old Manalapan man alleged his Santander Bank debit card was removed from his residence on April 25, possibly by a friend. The victim alleged $300 was removed from his checking account by the suspect. Investigation revealed the victim’s friend, a 21-year-old Manalapan man was the actor in this incident. The victim refused to proceed with criminal complaints as long as restitution was made in full.

At 1:47 a.m., Officer Joseph DeFilippis responded to a residence on Sunningdale Circle for a theft report. The victim, a 22-year-old Manalapan man said someone removed his temporary vehicle registration from the rear of his vehicle. This incident occurred sometime between April 27 at 4 p.m. and April 29 at 1:47a.m. April 28

At 4:49 p.m. a 72-year-old Manalapan woman reported that she believes someone stole several of her personal checks and cashed them in Old Bridge. Officer Brian Cruse is handling the investigation.

At 3 p.m. a 68-year-old Manalapan woman reported that she was deceived into sending more than $2,800 dollars via Western Union in a computer tech support scam. Residents are reminded to be cognizant of the ongoing trend of telephone scams. Officer Morgan Joiner is handling the investigation.

At approximately 2:30 p.m., patrols responded to Knob Hill Community Association for a report of a theft. Management advised that sometime between 9 a.m. on April 27 and 11:30 a.m. on April 28 someone removed several water meters and backflow preventers from their irrigation system. The items are made of brass and valued at approximately $5,000. Anyone with any information is asked to call Patrolman Kevin McIntosh.

At approximately 9:26 a.m., a 45-year-old Manalapan woman responded to headquarters to report an identity theft. The victim related that she was informed by her accountant that an unknown person had filed a tax return using her name and social security number. Patrolman Kevin McIntosh took the report.

April 27

At approximately 11:15 a.m., a 53-year-old Atlantic Highlands man, responded to Manalapan to report a theft. The victim related that during the morning hours of April 26 someone removed and stole the tailgate door to his pick­up truck while it was parked at the Englishtown Auction. The item is a dark blue tailgate to a 2008 Ford F­250 valued at $1,000. Anyone with information is asked to call Officer Jeff Emslie.

At approximately 4 a.m., a 59-year-old Manalapan man reported his 2014 black Range Rover was stolen from his driveway on Cornwallis Court. The theft is believed to have occurred between 8 p.m. on April 26 and 4 a.m. on April 27. The vehicle was locked and the keys were not inside the vehicle. Anyone with information about this case is asked to contact Officer Kyle Earley at 732-­446-­4300.
