Pool Safety Tips
The Manalapan Township Health Department wants all residents to be aware of pool safety tips.

Summer is "Pool Safety Season". As the heat of the summer starts to sink in, many are turning to local and backyard pools to cool down. Swimming, although fun, can also be very dangerous for young children. It is important to keep your children safe in these pools with a few simple safety tips.
Sun Safety Tips:
- Stay in the shade
- Wear sunglasses the block UVA and UVB rays
- Make sure to apply sunscreen
- Wear a hat that shades your faces, head, ears and neck

- To improve children's swimming skills, sign them up for swim lessons
- Swim close to the lifeguard
- Knowledge of CPR
- Make sure to keep a close eye on your children; do not read, use the phone or drink while watching your children
- Foam toys are not an adequate substitute for life-jackets
- Install a fence around the pool separating it from the yard.
