7 Die In Crashes, Shootings In Heartbreaking NJ Labor Day Weekend

New Jersey's summer weekends have been mostly free of trouble. But Labor Day weekend saw heartbreak for a number of families as at least seven people have died in tragic accidents and shootings.

Perhaps the most troubling incident happened in Paterson, where two people were killed and one was critically injured after they and another person were shot while sitting in a BMW, authorities said.

Double Fatal Crash At Jersey Shore: Prosecutor

Two people were killed in a fatal crash at the Jersey Shore on Sunday, according to prosecutors.

The two people were killed on a South Jersey highway in Atlantic City, according to the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office.

Authorities responded at 12 noon to Route 30 and Huron Avenue where they discovered the double-fatal crash, according to the ACPO. Read more here...

Monmouth County Man Dies In Fatal Crash At NJ Highway Toll Plaza

A 36-year-old New Jersey man was killed this weekend in a fatal crash near a New Jersey Turnpike toll plaza, police said.

Rene Melendez Jr., of Manalapan was driving a Ford van at 4:39 p.m. when passed through the Interchange 14 toll plaza at the New Jersey Turnpike and crashed soon afterward, police said.

Melendez struck a guardrail between the Interstate 78 local and express lanes, police said. Read more here...

4 Shot, 2 Dead In Overnight North Jersey Shooting: Police

Police responded to call of shots fired on 12 Avenue at 11:18 p.m. on Sunday and were directed to East 18th Street and Broadway where they found a BMW with four shooting victims inside, said Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes.

A 33-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene and a 48-year-old man was pronounced dead at St. Joseph's University Medical Center, Valdes said. Read more here...

Man Shot Dead In His Car In Trenton: Report

Authorities say a Pennsylvania man was found dead with gunshot wounds in his car on Saturday in New Jersey, according to News12.

Eric Rue, 34, of Bensalem was found with multiple gunshot wounds around 8 a.m. in the vehicle in Trenton, according to News12.

77-Year-Old NJ Woman Killed In Tragic Car, Bicycle Accident: Cops

A 77-year-old woman was killed this weekend while she was riding a bicycle in North Jersey, according to authorities. Police are looking for information as to how it happened.

The incident happened at approximately 7 a.m. on Saturday when the Bayonne Police Department responded to an incident at the intersection of Avenue C and 27th Street, according to the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office. Read more here...
