Powerful September Nor'easter Floods Jersey Shore as High Tides and Strong Winds Batter Coast - (thehenryettan.com) — Manasquan saw back-bay flood levels crest above 7.5 feet during this powerful September nor'easter, putting the event among its top flooding episodes and trapping some residents in elevated homes. Strong winds over 70 mph, prolonged tidal flooding, and serious beach erosion hit communities up and down the Jersey Shore, with officials still assessing damage and watching additional high tides.
3. New Jersey's 'Drone Ranger' Uses Thermal Drones to Rescue Missing Pets for Free (hypefresh.com) — A Manasquan restaurant owner known as the "Drone Ranger" is using thermal-imaging drones to help New Jersey families, especially seniors, find missing pets at no charge. Through his nonprofit Unmanned Search and Rescue Drone Team, he and volunteers have reunited more than a hundred animals with owners, while also training veterans for civilian drone careers.
4. Former Vol Andrew Fischer Racks Up Two Awards After Historic Minor League Season (rockytopinsider.com) — Manasquan native Andrew Fischer just completed a historic minor league baseball season, leading all of minor league ball with 48 home runs and earning two national player-of-the-year honors. The Wall Township High School alum and Brewers prospect is emerging as one of the organization's top power hitters after a standout college career at Tennessee, Ole Miss, and Duke.
