Belmar Gives Military a Day at the Beach

Military Appreciation Day to be held July 2

This Fourth of July weekend, as area beaches will not doubt fill with visitors, the borough of Belmar will roll out the welcome mat for the men and women of the Armed Services and their families.

Military Appreciation Day will take place on Saturday, July 2 at Belmar's Taylor Pavilion at 6th and Ocean avenues. All active military and National Guard are already given free beach access by the borough. For this event, military personnel and their families will also be given free parking, lunch and entertainment as a show of gratitude for their continued sacrifices in protection of the United States.

"Belmar is proud to salute our Armed Forces with a day at the beach," Belmar Mayor Matt Doherty said. "It is only appropriate we celebrate these men and women and their families on Fourth of July weekend for all of the sacrifices they make every day on our behalf."
