Coastal Monmouth Beach Weather Report For July 24, 2016

Heat index dips temporarily, but more torrid weather on the way for early part of the week.

The National Weather Service is calling for sunny skies with highs in the upper 80s today.

Beach winds will be from the north at five miles per hour, becoming southeast in the afternoon.

The surf will be from two to three feet, with southerly swells of around two feet. The water temperature will be in the low to mid-70s.

The UV index is a 9, which the NWS considers very high, so bring your sunscreen.

The rip current risk is low. But strong currents can still occur near piers, jetties and other areas, especially during low tide. Swim only in guarded areas and discuss any possible surf zone hazards with lifeguards.

High tide at Belmar will occur at 11:21 a.m. Low tide will arrive at 5:23 p.m.
