Doherty: No Plans to Move Library
Despite speculation, Belmar mayor says library will stay put

Mayor Matt Doherty announced Wednesday that there are no plans to demolish the Belmar Public Library.
Discussion began last week over the possibility of moving the borough's library facilities from the aging building at 10th Avenue and E Street into the municipal building at 6th Avenue and Main Street.
"We've come to the conclusion that we're going to leave everything in place," Doherty said of meetings held with the library's board of trustees.
