Join Us for an Evening to Learn what Asbury Park Grows!
Fundraiser for Kula Urban Farm in Asbury Park will feature documentary film "Growing Cities" on Tuesday, Sept. 29.

Interfaith Neighbors and the Environment and Shade Tree Commission of Asbury Park are pleased to present an evening entitled ASBURY GROWS on Tuesday, Sept. 29.
The fundraiser features the documentary film “Growing Cities” and will be shown at 6:30 p.m. at The ShowRoom Cinema, 707 Cookman Ave., Asbury Park.
Filmaker Dan Susman exams the role of urban farming in America and asks how much power that farming has to revitalize our cities and change the way we eat.
Both Asbury Park organizations are on the forefront of an urban farming movement that is spreading across the globe. During the course of the evening, you’ll learn about their progress and plans for the future and how these efforts are affecting our community.

Our new commercial greenhouse at the Kula Urban Farm, 115 Atkins Avenue just off Springwood Avenue, is in the final stages of completion.
Raised beds outside the greenhouse flourished during the summer and boasted a variety of eggplant, okra, cucumber and tomatoes. The first sales were made to local restaurants and fresh produce was donated to the farm’s neighbors.
A tour of the farm is available to the public between noon and 4 p.m. Friday, Oct. 2.
