Manasquan Mayor, Council Member Sworn-In
Democratic Mayor Ed Donovan was sworn-in on Monday after he was re-elected without opposition in November.

MANASQUAN – Democratic Mayor Ed Donovan was sworn-in on Monday after he was re-elected without opposition in November. He won a contested primary in his run for re-election in Manasquan.
Richard Read was also be sworn-in to council.

- Republican Gregg Olivera: 898
- Democrat Richard Read (incumbent): 705
- Democrat Sara-Jane V. Millard: 549
Councilman Michael Mangan sought to unseat Donovan in the Democratic Primary, saying he had the support of the majority of council.

- Ed Donovan 375 votes
- Michael Mangan 245 votes
Mangan said he wanted to increase customer service and responsiveness, fix road flooding and drainage issues, expand programming for seniors and recreation and improve the beach and parks. He also wanted to keep taxes stable.
Donovan said he wants to "move Manasquan forward in a positive way." He said the town must continue on the path that has resulted in a "stable tax rate, necessary infrastructure improvements, flood mitigation and improved communication, municipal services and public safety."
