MS Walk and Bike Events Approved by Spring Lake

Previous issues over road markings have been resolved between the governing body and the nonprofit group

The Spring Lake mayor and council have come to an agreement with the Multiple Sclerosis Society over spray painted markings left on borough roads after charity walks and races.

It turns out, Mayor Jennifer Naughton reported, that the marks in question were not left by the MS Society, but by one of the many other charitable organizations who host events in the borough throughout the year.

, the governing body in January held up two event applications from the MS Society over concerns about permanent markings left on roads. The marks were used by groups hosting walks, races or bike tours to direct participants.
