Squan Hosting Home Composting Workshop

Monmouth County residents will have the opportunity to participate in a free home composting workshop Monday, April 30, at the Manasquan Recreation Annex, 67 Atlantic Avenue. The workshop will run from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

The workshop, hosted by the county's Recycling Office and the borough's Environmental Comission, will teach participants the importance of home composting and proper techniques, Jane Donovan, of the Environmental Commission, said in a release. 

While the class is free, registration is required and organizers need a head count by April 24, Donovan said. 

The county, for $35, will be offering each participant an "Earth Machine" at the event, Donovan said.

Participants are also encouraged to bring non-perishable food items, as organizers will be collecting for the Monmouth and Ocean County Food Bank, Donovan said.
