Charge Phones, Cool Off At Manchester Town Hall Amid Outages
About 1,700 homes still lack power following Tropical Storm Isaias; town hall and the Whiting Fire Company offer relief.

MANCHESTER, NJ — UPDATE: The cooling centers were closed Friday evening after power was restored to the majority of the township.
About 1,700 homes in Manchester remained without power on Friday morning, and the township has opened a pair of cooling centers for residents stuck without electric.
One is open at the Whiting Fire Comany, 120 Lacey Road, and the second is at the Manchester Township municipal building, 1 Colonial Dr., in the civic center in the basement.

The centers offer places to charge your phone and cool off and will be open until 8 p.m.
Water is provided and you must wear a mask, a requirement to be in compliance with the state's coronavirus pandemic executive orders. Social distancing is to be adhered to.
