Kevin's Kids Wraps Up Its Christmas Gift Drive In Manchester

Ribbons and bows and festive paper filled the Ridgeway School; all-purpose room Sunday as Santa's helpers wrapped gifts for needy families.

MANCHESTER, NJ — Volunteers filled the Ridgeway Elementary School all-purpose room with the sounds of scissors cutting paper, folding and taping and most of all, joy ... joy that came from fulfilling wishes for children who might not have a Christmas celebration otherwise.

The 36th annual Kevin's Kids gift drive finished up on Sunday with the wrapping of the gifts that will be distributed. Thousands of gifts, along with new shoes and clothing, were purchased as a result of the fundraising that was done by group, organized by the Manchester Township Schools.

Shopping was completed on Saturday, following Friday's Hawkapalooza, the final fundraiser for the annual gift drive, that got its start when a first-grade teacher learned one of her students did not have Christmas gifts.
