Manchester Council OKs $2.65M Capital Bonds For Paving, Ambulances

The bond ordinance includes more than $1 million for road paving.

MANCHESTER, NJ — The Manchester Township Council has approved a capital bond package of $2.65 million that includes road paving and the purchase of two ambulances.

The package, which was approved at the June 27 council meeting, includes $1.06 million for paving of the following streets: Chilvers Avenue, Roosevelt Boulevard, Lake Road, Station Road, Southampton Boulevard, Middlesex Street, Manchester Street, New Jersey Way, Burnside Street, Lakewood Avenue, Locust Avenue, Central Avenue, and Schoolhouse Road.

The work includes milling and paving, repairing cracks, constructing curbing and other projects as needed, according to the agenda.

In addition, $901,000 has been appropriated to pay for two new ambulances, $227,000 for improvements to police department facilities at town hall, and $106,000 for turnout gear and safety items for firefighters.
