Manchester Day Festivities On, But Fireworks Postponed: Mayor
The annual event celebrates the founding of the township, which happened more than 150 years ago.

MANCHESTER, NJ — It's Manchester Day and Harry Wright Lake is expected to be hopping later with games, music, food trucks and more.
However, there won't be fireworks tonight, Manchester Township Mayor Ken Palmer said.
In a post on Facebook, Palmer said the fireworks that were planned for dusk Saturday evening have been postponed due to the threat of thunderstorms in the forecast. Read more: Severe NJ Weather Possible This Weekend

The fireworks have been rescheduled to July 10, he said.
"If we wait to see how the weather cooperates and have to cancel any later, we will lose our ($10,000) deposit," Palmer said.

The festivities begin at 2 p.m. at Harry Wright Lake. There is a full schedule of events and music. Various rides will be provided for both children and adults and games and contests, such as a hula hoop contest and watermelon-eating contest, throughout the day.
Food vendors will be on hand to fill bellies and quench thirsts, and there will be craft and vendor tables within the park.
DJ CGroove will be providing music to start the day and Garden State Radio will perform in the evening. WJRZ is providing additional support.
