Manchester Man Indicted In Strict-Liability Overdose Death
Dandre Tubbs is accused of selling heroin and fentanyl to a man who died of an overdose the next day, authorities said.

MANCHESTER, NJ — A Manchester Township man has been indicted on a strict liability charge in connection with a fatal overdose, authorities said.
Dandre Tubbs, 33, was indicted Wednesday, a week after he was ordered to remain in the Ocean County Jail pending trial.
Tubbs was indicted on a charge of strict liability drug-induced death in connection with the Aug. 16 death of a 35-year-old man in Manchester, Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer said. He also was indicted on charges of distribution of heroin/fentanyl; possession of heroin/fentanyl with intent to distribute; three counts of possession of heroin/fentanyl, and possession of alprazolam.

Authorities allege Tubbs sold heroin and fentanyl to the man the day before his overdose death, and traces of those were found in the man's body, according to a toxicology report the prosecutor's office received.
Tubbs was arrested Aug. 19 and charged with three counts of distribution of heroin, two counts of possession of heroin, and one count each of possession of alprazolam, possession of a hypodermic syringe, and possession of drug paraphernalia, authorities said. He has been held in the Ocean County Jail since his arrest.
