Manchester Officer, Woman Hurt In 2-Vehicle Pine Lake Park Crash
The woman told police she did not see the officer's vehicle before she pulled into the intersection, according to the police report.

MANCHESTER, NJ — Two people were injured in a two-vehicle crash in the Pine Lake Park section Thursday morning involving a Manchester Township police vehicle, Manchester police said.
Candy Mannix, 24, of Manchester, and Patrolman Stephen Hankins, 41, were injured in the crash about 8:50 a.m. at the intersection of Commonwealth Boulevard and Pemberton Street in Pine Lake Park, Lt. James Komsa said.
Mannix was treated at the scene but refused further treatment, he said. Hankins was taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center for treatment and was released by Thursday afternoon, Komsa said.

Mannix was driving a tan 2006 Chevy Cobalt south on Pemberton Street and Hankins was driving a blue 2017 Manchester Township Police Ford Explorer west on Commonwealth Boulevard, he said.
Pemberton Street has a stop sign but Commonwealth does not at that intersection, he said. The crash happened as the Chevy pulled out into the intersection and was hit by the police vehicle, Komsa said.

Mannix told police she never saw the police vehicle prior to pulling out into the intersection, he said.
Assisting were members of the Manchester Township EMS, Manchester Township Fire Department and Accurate Towing. Sgt. Paul Bachovchin is investigating.
