Manchester Police Help Man Pull Off An Arresting Proposal: Video

Manchester Police Chief Lisa Parker and Sgt. Chris Cerullo helped a young man surprise his girlfriend with a wedding proposal to remember.

MANCHESTER, NJ — Unusual wedding proposals always contain the element of surprise. It's safe to say few involve being pulled over by police.

It turned out to be the perfect ruse for a young man named Matt to pop the question and completely surprise his girlfriend, Brianna.

Manchester Township police, in a post on Facebook, shared video of the moment, captured on a department's dash cam.

The surprise was helped along by Police Chief Lisa Parker and Sgt. Chris Cerullo, who took up the special assignment to help Matt surprise Brianna, who is the daughter of Manchester Police Command Support Assistant Ron Rhein.

"Before coming to Manchester Township, CSA Rhein was a sergeant in Howell, so Brianna grew up around the police profession," Manchester police said in the Facebook post. "Matt recognized how special it would be to incorporate it into his proposal."

Parker and Cerullo pulled over the car as the couple was driving along a Manchester road, and tells them to step out of the car because Parker is "investigating something important," she says.

With the two standing behind the car, Parker asks Matt if he has anything she should know about, and that's when he pulls out the ring box and kneels to propose.

"It turned out to be an uplifting and memorable surprise for all!" the post said. "The entire Manchester Township Police Department wishes the happy couple the best of luck on their engagement!"
