Manchester Township Offering Free Rabies Vaccination Clinic

If your pets need their rabies vaccinations before you renew their licenses in Manchester in June, the free clinic can help.

MANCHESTER, NJ — Manchester Township has scheduled a free rabies vaccination clinic for May 21, officials announced.

The free clinic will be held at the Ridgeway Fire Company firehouse and at the Manchester Township public works garage, officials said.

The firehouse, at 2848 Ridgeway Road across from Manchester Township Middle School, is scheduled to have vaccinations for cats from 8:30 a.m. to 9 a.m., and dogs from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., officials said.

Vaccinations at the public works garage, just west of Roosevelt City Road on Route 70, is scheduled to vaccinate cats from 1 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. and dogs from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Pet owners should bring proof of a previous rabies vaccination to get a three-year certificate for rabies. Without proof of a prior vaccination, a one-year certificate will be issued.

Manchester dog owners must license their dogs by June 30. Information and licensing forms are on the Manchester Township website here.

If you are unable to bring your pets to the May 21 rabies clinic, the Ocean County Health Department offers rabies vaccinations at its two animal facilities, in Jackson and in Manahawkin. You must make an appointment and the clinics are held on Wednesdays from 11 a.m. to noon.
