Manchester Unveils Elementary School STEAM Lab

The lab, funded with a $15,000 grant from the Manchester Township Educational Foundation, replaced the school's computer lab.

MANCHESTER, NJ — Students at Manchester Township Elementary School now have a place to explore all kinds of activities to expand their creativity and passion for science, technology and a future world, with the opening of a STEAM lab .

The lab, funded by a $15,000 grant from the Manchester Township Educational Foundation, replaced a computer lab at the school.

The STEAM lab — STEAM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math — was unveiled during an open house that included displays and demonstrations set up in the lab, the Media Center and the hallway between the rooms.

Students demonstrated coding systems, robots, animation, contraptions, circuitry, 3-D Doodle pens and various building systems like Legos, magnetic blocks, Zoob and Keva planks.

Visitors were treated demonstration of the equipment and the highly knowledgeable students.
