One Lane For Route 70 Overnight Again Thursday: NJDOT
If you're driving either east or west through the area, be prepared for delays.
MANCHESTER, NJ — Route 70 will be one lane again overnight Thursday into Friday as work continues on a traffic shift for a road project from Manchester to Burlington County.
The state Department of Transportation said the lane closure, with alternating traffic, will begin at 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 18, and continue until 6 a.m. on Friday, April 19, along the seven-mile stretch of Route 70 from the intersection with County Route 539 to North Branch Road in Pemberton.
The contractor on the $12.2 million project, A.E. Stone, will restripe both sides of the road, shifting traffic first to the westbound shoulder and then to the eastbound shoulder on Route 70, the NJDOT said in a news release.

"This will complete the seven-mile traffic shift on Route 70 between North Branch Road and Whiting New Egypt Road/CR539 that began last week," the release said. "By Friday morning, two lanes of traffic will be open on Route 70 in both directions."
The new traffic pattern will increase the Route 70 eastbound shoulder width for the asphalt milling and pavement reclamation process and will remain in place for about three months.

Daytime work will continue from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m. Monday through Friday with occasional overnight work as necessary. Access to properties will be maintained at all times during construction.
The project includes a full depth pavement reclamation and rubblization, milling and paving, guide rail upgrades, construction of ADA compliant curbs and ramps, and drainage improvements, as well as intersection work at County Route 539, the NJDOT said.
