Fugitive Sought By Manchester Police

Manchester Township police are looking for Craig Orler, who has a who eluded police Wednesday morning.

MANCHESTER, NJ — A Manchester Township man who has warrants for his arrest on burglary and theft charges is being sought after he eluded police Wednesday morning.

Craig Orler, 43, of Jolson Court, is wanted for eluding police officers following a motor vehicle stop Wednesday morning, Manchester police said. He is described as a white male, about 6 feet tall and 170 pounds and was last seen wearing a black baseball hat, black jacket and tan pants, police said.

Police tried to pull Orler over at 9:51 a.m. to arrest him on charges including burglary and theft, Manchester Lt. Vincent Manco said. Authorities had issued multiple arrest warrants for Orler, Manco said. Orler fled the stop, he said.

Orler was last seen in the area of Northampton Boulevard and the entrance to the Heritage Minerals site, police said. Ocean County Scanner News reported he was last seen driving a blue 2014 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck toward the Sarco dirt pits.

Orler has an extensive criminal history datiting back to the late 1990s, according to court records, including multiple convictions in Florida and New Jersey for auto theft, burglary and aggravated assault. He has served time in jail at least twice, including following a 2006 conviction for making terroristic threats in Monmouth County.

Manchester police had earlier issued a Nixle alert followed up with a robocall telling residents to stay away from the area of the Heritage Minerals site behind Pine Acres Manor and Suncrest Village, and urging residents to report suspicious people and activity to police.

Residents should call police if they see Orler. "Please do not approach him," police said.

Anyone with information regarding Orler's whereabouts can call 732-657-6111 or report anonymously on the Manchester Township Police Department website.

"We are asking that all residents in the area immediately report any suspicious persons or activity to the police," the Nixle alert said.
