Webster Out, Nolan, Jenner Win Manchester BOE Seats

Donald Webster Jr., the board president and its longest-serving board member, was in the fifth spot of six on the ballot.

MANCHESTER, NJ — Manchester Township voters chose a new face for the township's Board of Education on Tuesday as long-serving board president Donald Webster Jr. was ousted.

According to unofficial results as of 1 a.m. on the Ocean County Board of Elections website, incumbent Christopher Nolan and newcomer Bryan Jenner won the two available three-year terms on the board. Nolan received 6,928 votes, and Jenner 4,965. Webster, in the fifth ballot position out of six candidates, recieved 2,064 votes.

Gayle Mount, who served an unexpired term when Mary Walter resigned her board seat, received 3,245 votes. Sarita Dodd, the former PTA president, received 2,627, and Anthony S. Goltsch received 1,623.

Webster has been a long-time member of the board and served as the president of the New Jersey School Boards Association from 2015-2017. He is a retired financial manager who was first elected in 1997 and whose children all graduated from Manchester's schools.

Nolan was seeking his second term. Jenner is a retired public school teacher and clinical supervisor at Monmouth University.

Unofficial results for Manchester's municipal races, which were uncontested, show Kenneth T. Palmer receiving 14,408 in his bid for a second term, while Joan Brush received 12,219 and Craig Wallis received 11,433 in being returned to the Township Council.

In the uncontested Lakehurst races, unofficial totals have Deborah Pease receiving 345 votes and James Malden receiving 351 for the two, three-year terms on the borough's Board of Education, and Republicans Gary L. Lowe and James W. Davis Jr. receiving 452 and 444 votes, respectively, and Robin Busch received 437 for an unexpired term in the Borough Council voting.
