It is the second police officer-involved shooting in Manchester this year.
In February, members of the Ocean County Regional SWAT team shot and killed Michael Laniado, 27, of Manchester during a standoff after township police tried to serve an arrest warrant on Laniado's girlfriend, Shayna Palmieri, at their home in Pine Acres Manor mobile home park.

The state Attorney General's office in June issued a report saying the use of deadly force was justified in that incident, as Laniado came after officers with a machete.
In Toms River, a police officer-involved shooting of a man who pointed a gun at police in July and was wounded as he ran away remains under investigation.
Timothy J. Sauers, 29, of Hightstown Drive in Toms River, is facing three weapons charges in the wake of the July 7 incident, which happened when police officers investigating a suspicious vehicle on Cedar Drive encountered Sauers. Authorities say Sauers pointed the weapon, which turned out to be an air gun, at police officers before he was shot and wounded.
Requests for comment from the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office and the Manchester Township Police Department were not immediately returned.
