MANCHESTER, NJ — Craig Wallis has returned to the Manchester Township Council, appointed to fill the vacancy created when Councilman Samuel Fusaro resigned in January.

Wallis, who did not seek re-election in 2022 when his council term expired, was chosen from among five applicants for Fusaro's seat. He will serve through Dec. 31, but will be required to seek re-election in November if he wants to serve the final year of Fusaro's term.

He took the oath of office accompanied by his wife and adult daughter, and afterward noted his daughter was 12 years old when he first won election to the council in 2004. He and his family have lived in Manchester since 1996, when Wallis retired from the military.

"I’d like to thank the council for welcoming me back," Wallis said. "It’s going to be an exciting year, especially with our new Council President (Roxanne Conniff) and Councilman (Joseph) Hankins. They bring a freshness to this whole organization."
