Manville Man Assaults Girlfriend In The Face, Arrested: Police

Multiple Manville resident also reported break-ins and thefts from their vehicles in separate incidents, according to the police blotter.

MANVILLE, NJ — A Manville man was arrested for simple assault after striking his girlfriend in the face, police report.

On Sept. 22 at 10:31 p.m., patrols respond to the area of North 5th Avenue on the report of a simple assault where they subsequently arrest a 31-year-old man from Manville for simple assault, police report.

He was transported to police headquarters where he was processed, charged and released.

On Sept. 18 at 7:30 p.m.: Patrols respond to WalMart on the report of a shoplifting. Patrols subsequently arrest Jose Agosto, 18, of Somerset, Tiffany Goodman, 18, of Somerset and Shantellie Jackson, 19, of Somerset for shoplifting. They were transported to police headquarters where they were processed, charged and released.

On Sept. 18 at 9:03 p.m.: Patrols respond to WalMart on the report of a shoplifting. The incident was to be handled in the store. The two individuals were identified as two 18 year old males, one from Piscataway and one from South Plainfield. No police action requested.

On Sept. 19 at 8:46 p.m.: Patrols responded to the area of North 11th Avenue on the report of a theft. A Manville resident reports a burglary and theft from a motor vehicle (an iPhone valued at $600 and $70 in cash). Patrols locate Nicolas Soto, 25, of Somerville who is subsequently arrested and charged with theft. He was transported to Police Headquarters where he was processed, charged and transported to the Somerset County Jail on an active warrant for a parole violation. A search was conducted for a second suspect which yielded negative results.

On Sept. 19 at 11:42 p.m.: Patrols respond to the area of North Street on a follow-up investigation. One additional motor vehicle burglary/theft victim was located. The property was processed and returned to the victim. Investigation to continue.

On Sept. 20 at 7:49 a.m.: Patrols respond to the area of North 10th Avenue on the report of a theft. The resident reported a burglary to the vehicle with a Garmin GPS estimated at $100 was taken. Investigation to continue.

On Sept. 21 at 1:09 p.m.: Patrols respond to the area of South Street on the report of a fight. A homeless male victim refused to provide information regarding the suspect with whom he got into a physical altercation. He did not wish to press charges. The second party was gone on arrival.

On Sept. 21 at 10:35 p.m.: Patrols respond to Adesa on the report of a theft. The victim from Holmdel reports that he had five Delaware Dealer license plates stolen from his vehicle at the Adesa Auto Auction. The plates were entered NCIC with a value of $25.

On Sept. 23 at 5:30 p.m.: Patrols respond to New Fortune Chinese Restaurant on the report of fraud. An employee reported two charge backs from a credit card used on Sept. 9 for $64.60 and Sept. 11 for $47. Investigation to continue.
