12-Year-Old Apprehended at Library after Train Station Incident
A local boy was accused of putting his hand up a woman's skirt at the Maplewood Train Station and was detained by police after they found him at the public library. The Youth Aid Bureau is handling the case.

Maplewood police said a 12-year-old boy improperly touched a woman at the Maplewood Train Station yesterday afternoon, when he put his hand up her skirt and touched her thigh without her permission. The boy was detained by Maplewood Police and later turned over to his parents. The matter is being handled by the detectives at the Maplewood Police Youth Aid Bureau.
Police report that, at 4:46 p.m. on Tuesday, a 37-year-old woman from Maplewood said she was standing near the train station on Dunnell Road when she was approached from behind by the boy. The woman said the boy placed his hand under her dress and touched her inner thigh. According to the police report, the woman was "startled by the boy's actions." She yelled and the boy ran away. The woman was able to provide a description to responding officers, and the boy was located in front of the main library on Baker Street and was taken into custody. The 12-year-old boy is a local resident. The woman was not injured.
