78-Year-Old Assaulted at Springfield and Boyden

The following arrest information was supplied by the Maplewood Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

A 78-year-old Union, N.J. man had his jaw broken when he was assaulted by two men on Springfield Avenue shortly after midnight last Wednesday. 

Maplewood police report that the man was assaulted at a bus stop on Springfield Avenue near Boyden Avenue at 12:36 a.m. on June 8.  When police responded to a call, they found the elderly man bleeding from the face. The victim was admitted to Newark Beth Israel Hospital with a broken jaw. The only description of the assailants was: two young black males. No items were reported taken from the victim.
