Armed Robbery at Denco Gas Station
Two men are reported to have left the scene of the Springfield Avenue station with nearly $1,000 in cash.
Two armed robbers allegedly got away with between $900-$1,000 shortly after 5 p.m. today when they held up the Denco gas station located at 2018 Springfield Ave.
The men were described as African-American and between 30-40 years of age, according to station attendant Buta Singh. The men fled the scene in a gold pickup truck.
According to Singh, he and another attendant were robbed at gunpoint at around 5 p.m. and told to remove the cash from their pockets. “The station is under new management,” said station attendant Buta Singh. “We haven’t had anything happen like this before.”

No injuries were reported. At press time, Singh and the other employee were waiting for the station’s owner to arrive.
No comment was available from the Maplewood Police Department.
