Police Make Narcotics Arrest and Warrant Arrest

The following arrest information was supplied by the Maplewood Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Maplewood police made two arrests this week: one for narcotics possession and one for an outstanding warrant discovered during a vehicle stop.

Police arrested Edward Chisolm, 34, of Newark on Oct. 17, and charged him with possession of marijuana and several motor vehicle offenses. After Chisolm had been stopped for a motor vehicle violation at 12:50 a.m. on Boyden Avenue, Maplewood Police Officer John Mazzola discovered four small bags of marijuana inside the 2001 Mazda 626 registered to Chisolm. Chisolm was charged with possession of marijuana under 50 grams and released with a pending court date.

The other arrest came on Oct. 22 when Maplewood Police Officer Nicholas Rella conducted a motor vehicle stop with a Nissan Altima on Boyden Avenue near Van Ness Terrace. Rella determined that the driver, Takiyah Paige, 34, of Maplewood, was driving with suspended license. A further computer check discovered that Paige had an outstanding warrant from Montclair NJ. Paige was placed under arrest and was later turned over to Montclair Police for the warrant.
