Steeple Concerts sparks 7th season on Sun., Sept. 27, with creative pianist and friends.
Innovative Jazz pianist, composer and electronic artist Pascal Le Boeuf will spark the first Steeple Concert of the 2026-27 season at 5 PM on Sunday, September 27 at St. Paul’s Church in Westfield. Tickets, priced at $40/adults and $15/students are available online at steepleconcerts.org or at the door. St. Paul’s Episcopal Church is located at 414 East Broad Street in Westfield, NJ. At concert finish, attendees are cordially invited to a lavish “Meet and Greet the Artists” reception which, in this case, includes Mr. Le Boeuf and three exceptional ensemble players: Violinist Sara Caswell, cellist Nick Photinos, and drummer Christian Euman. Parking is FREE in the St. Paul’s parking lot off Euclid Avenue or on St. Paul’s Street next to the church.
The works of Grammy-winning Pascal Le Boeuf combine hybrid forms of new music and jazz “to blaze a trail of forward-thinking creativity.” The New York Times hails his work as “sleek, new” and “hyper-fluent.” NPR advises that Le Boeuf’s work “communicates tension and release, leaves space for improvisation and explores the limits of a continuous high energy.”
Highlighted on the September 27th varied program is Ritual Being, Mr. Le Boeuf’s critically acclaimed 2023 studio album and hybrid chamber-jazz project. Highlighted by the Caswell-Photinos-Euman ensemble, Ritual Being “combines modern post-bop jazz improvisation with contemporary classical string chamber music.” (AI overview). On November 15, the Steeple season continues with the Munich-based Arcis Saxophone Quartet, one of the world’s most vibrant and active classical ensembles. On January 31, 2027, Steeple hosts pianist/composer Nicolas Namoradze. Cited as a Musical America New Artist, BBC Music Magazine Rising Star, and Gramophone One to Watch, this artist won the Pianist of the Year Award in 2022 per the UK Critics’ Circle. Steeple’s March 14, 2027, concert features Chatham, NJ-based ensemble, Lyrica Chamber Music, since 1987 one of Morris County’s longest running chamber music series.
On Sunday, May 23, 2027, Steeple’s annual Masterworks Concert will feature, Carl Orff’s beloved Carmina Burana. With its large chorus, solo vocalists, and impressive use of percussion, this cantata brings the season to an exciting close.
In addition to the concert series, Steeple Concerts will hold a Gala Fundraiser on Saturday, November 7, to support its mission of bringing high-quality live music to the Westfield area. Tickets and information are available on steepleconcerts.org.
Tickets to the first four concerts are $40/adults and $15/students. Masterworks Concert tickets are priced at $50/adults and $20/students. In contrast, season ticket subscriptions are priced at $65/students and $165/adults (a $45 savings).
