Clinton School Gets a New Assistant Principal

A familiar face gets a new role — and title.

It may seem like a small leap — from Assistant to the Principal to Assistant Principal — but it's a big deal for Ann Bodnar and Principal Patty O'Neill at Clinton School.

"I'm completely delighted to make this appointment," said South Orange-Maplewood Superintendent of Schools Brian Osborne at the August 22 Board of Education meeting. "We had many applicants, but her passion for all kids and her proven track record at Clinton School" made Bodnar a stand-out for selection.

"She was the most nervous candidate!" said O'Neill, who recalled her history with Bodnar. "We started together. This is our 5th year." O'Neill then became effusive in her praise of Bodnar: "She is one of the most capable educators and administrators I have worked with in 20 years." O'Neill also cited Bodnar's "intelligence, foresight and caring." She added, "I'm beside myself in welcoming her!"

O'Neill said the two have and would continue to work well together.
