Flash Storm Brings Trees Down on Oakland, Hudson
Two trees are down. Some residents lack power.
A sudden wind and rain storm at around 7 p.m. had patrons running for shelter at the Maplewood Pool and brought down two large trees in town — taking wires with them.
A large tree fell from a front lawn across Oakland Rd. between Prospect and Valley, pulling wires from one home and closing the street to traffic. Only the home with damaged wires was without power at 8 p.m.
On Hudson Street off of Parker Avenue, another tree fell and also took some electrical wires with it. Several homes in that area are without power, according to Maplewood Director of Public Works Eric Burbank.
