Free Holiday Concert & Toys for Tots Collection Event on December 13 in Maplewood

Maplewood Community Music hosts "Toys & Treasures", a full afternoon of seasonal music. It's a Dickens Village tradition and it's free!

Saturday, December 13, 2014 from 1 - 5 p.m.

Burgdorff Center for the Performing Arts
10 Durand Rd, Maplewood

This Dickens Village tradition is free and family-friendly and will feature five ensembles:

  • Maplewood Community Concert Band
  • The Silvertones (flute choir)
  • TSQ (The Sax Quartet)
  • Swingville (jazz combo)
  • Swing Town (big band)

This event will also be an official “Toys for Tots” collection event. Please consider dropping off a new, unwrapped toy for children who are less fortunate. Collection bins will be available at the Burgdorff on the day of the concert from 1:00 – 5:00 p.m.

Throughout the concert, hot beverages and a variety of baked goods will be available for purchase with 100% of the proceeds to be used by MCM to provide free concerts throughout area communities and support music enrichment programs.

In the event of inclement weather, the concert will be held on Sunday, December 14, 1 - 5 p.m.

All woodwind, brass and percussion musicians, especially hobbyists, are welcome to join the Maplewood Community Concert Band at anytime. Read more

Maplewood Community Music, a local non-profit, is dedicated to giving hobbyist musicians bands in which to play, providing free public concerts for audiences of all ages, and partnering with local organizations to provide and support community and youth music enrichment programs.
