Yesterday, Patch received a number of emails all forwarding a warning by a Kendal Avenue resident about a home burglary. We contacted Maplewood Police Captain Paul Conlon for confirmation and more information (the break-in follows a previous Kendal Avenue incident on May 29). Captain Conlon replied with this press release late this morning:
June 9, 2010: Burglary-At approximately 1:40 in the afternoon a teenage girl from Kendal Ave reported to the Police that an unknown white male was found on the second floor of her home. The young woman returned home with another female friend and proceeded to the second floor of the house where they located a white male, 5'8" tall, hiding in the bathroom. Upon seeing the male, the two girls fled to a neighbor's house and called Police. An interior inspection of the home by officers showed that the suspect had also fled the home. It appears that the subject was able to gain entry to the house through the back door. The actor is described as a white male, 5'8" tall, 16 to 20 years of age, with medium length dark hair. He was wearing dark colored jeans and a light colored t-shirt, black and white sneakers, and a dark colored backpack. At the time of the report the homeowner was unsure if any items were taken from the home.
