Malfunctioning Traffic Light In Maplewood Causes Detours

MAPLEWOOD, NJ — A malfunctioning traffic light caused a traffic diversion in Maplewood on Monday morning, authorities said.

According to a Maplewood Police Department alert issued at 7:58 a.m., there was a “traffic light cycling malfunction” at the intersection of Springfield and Burnett avenues.

Police wrote:

“Due to the traffic light not functioning properly at the intersection of Springfield Ave all traffic travelling on Burnett Ave towards Springfield Ave will be diverted towards Boyden Ave.”
