Maple Chek Burglarized, Teen Thief Caught: Police

MAPLEWOOD, NJ - The quick response to Maple Chek by authorities led to the theft thwarting by the Maplewood Township Police on Oct. 4.

According to authorities, officers were dispatched to the Maple Chek convenience store at 1942 Springfield Ave. shortly before 12:30 a.m. in response to an alarm activation.

Officers arrived to the store and found damage to the door and a 16-year-old boy inside. The teen was taken into custody and charged with burglary, police said.
