Maplewood Cops Investigate Alleged Knife Slashing Of Newark Man: Authorities

MAPLEWOOD, NJ — Maplewood police are investigating an alleged slashing that took place near Coolidge Road and Irvington Avenue on Wednesday night, authorities say.

According to the Maplewood Police Department, the victim – a 23-year-old Newark man – was slashed with a knife during a mutual fight with another man around 7:45 p.m. Police said that the victim knew his attacker and has had previous disputes with him.

The victim suffered minor injuries during the incident and received on-scene medical treatment from police, authorities said.
