Maplewood Man Hit Two Women In Crosswalk Driving Drunk: Police
The accident sent two women to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, police said.
MAPLEWOOD, NJ - A 27-year-old Maplewood man was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated after striking two women with his car and sending them to the hospital, according to the Maplewood Police Department.
Ryan McMillan-Maurice struck two women with his car at the intersection of Jefferson Avenue and Maplewood Avenue on July 20, police said.
According two authorities, two 45-year-old women, one from Maplewood, one from Jersey City, were walking north on Maplewood Avenue on the east sidewalk. They entered the crosswalk and were struck by McMillan-Maurice's car, which was turning left onto Jefferson Avenue, police said.

Both women were transported to UMDNJ for treatment. One woman suffered a laceration on her head which required six staples as well as bruising throughout her body, a swollen left knee, a swollen right hand. She was further advised that she sustained a concussion and will be seeking further medical evaluation when the metal staples are removed.
The other woman suffered abrasions to her left elbow and right shoulder and said there was soreness on the left side of her body.

McMillan-Maurice, was taken into custody for DWI and charged accordingly, police said.
