Maplewood Man Robbed As He Walks Down Tuscan Street: Police

A pair of male suspects grabbed the Maplewood man from behind and took his cash, police say.

MAPLEWOOD, NJ — A pair of male suspects allegedly robbed a 54-year-old Maplewood man earlier this month as he was walking down the street, authorities say.

According to the Maplewood Police Department, the Maplewood resident told officers that he was walking on Tuscan Street when two male suspects grabbed him from behind. The suspects then demanded that he hand over his belongings and went through his pockets, taking cash.

The suspects then fled on foot towards Burnett Avenue, police said.

The victim wasn’t injured during the encounter and walked to Maplewood Police Headquarters to report the incident, authorities said.

Maplewood detectives are investigating the incident.
