Men Robbed at Gunpoint on Elmwood Avenue

Maplewood Police are investigating the incident.

Three men sitting on the porch of an Elmwood Avenue house were robbed at gunpoint, according to Capt. John Perna of the Maplewood Police Department.

Three teenage boys approached the men, one of them brandishing a handgun, and demanded money and cellphones, said Capt. Perna. The men handed over their money and phones and the teens fled on foot toward the Irvington border.

The incident, which took place on July 18 at 10:20 p.m. in the 200 block of Elmwood Avenue, is under active investigation, according to Capt. Perna.
