Millburn Resident in Wyoming Area Thwarts Burglar

A Millburn resident on Sunset Drive near Maplewood thwarted a burglary to his home when he discovered someone trying to break-in through a rear window on Friday morning, according to Millburn Police.

The homeowner told police that someone rang his doorbell just prior to the incident. He had ignored the ringing bell but then heard someone trying to get in through the window, said Millburn Police Lt. Peter Eakley.

When the suspect, who was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt with stripes, saw the homeowner, he ran away.

Essex County K-9 Unit assisted Millburn in looking for the suspect throughout the neighborhood, but they did not find him.
